Staying active

On Sunday afternoon, five residents played dominoes with Russell Cox winning. On Tuesday morning, five residents played Yahtzee with Pat Rust winning. On Wednesday afternoon, 13 residents played Bingo, and Friday afternoon, 13 resident played Bingo. Pat Rust, Carol Higby, Nadine Caleb, Marion Lansdown, and Kenny Hoagland won Four Corners. Kenny Hoagland and Dennis Ratcliffe won Blackouts. Our volunteers were Lila Worden, Sue Bartlett, Joy Hamilton, Elder Palmer, and Elder McConneghey. On Thursday afternoon, residents played Uno. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.

Movies provided entertainment for residents throughout the week and the weekend. In the evening resident may watch the Turner Classic Movies channel, which has no commercials. On Tuesday afternoon, five residents watched “Far From Home” and had popcorn.

For Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center, three residents had beef stew on Monday, and three residents had salmon patty on Friday.

On Sunday and Saturday mornings, residents played Wii Bowling.

On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Scott Stinson of the Missionary Alliance Church led our church service. Terry Hicks gave the sermon, and Joe Gaspari led hymn singing. Doris Davis played traditional religious music on the keyboard.

On Monday afternoon, five residents went shopping at Family Dollar with Sue Morawski.

On Wednesday morning, eight residents had their hair done, and 12 residents had their finger nails done by Georgia Schroer and Janice Kerpan.

On Thursday morning, eight residents attended a special Resident Council with the Federal surveyors.

On Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed the Ice Cream Social.

We wish to thank Pat Courtney for the donation of scarves for Bingo prizes. Also, we would like to thank Frances Kirby for the small stuffed animals and the quarter for Bingo prizes.
