Riverside Town Council approves DEQ permit application

The Riverside Town Council Thursday, where they approved to go ahead with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) application for a permit to allow the town to proceed with its plan to have Bio-Domes installed into the effluent waste lagoons. The Bio-Domes will help breakdown the bacteria that live in the wastewater. The effluent is filtered through the system and keeps the bacteria active during the winter months when the lagoon would normally freeze over.

If the project moves forward it would be the first of its kind to be installed in Wyoming.

The council also approved monies for mosquito abatement and a donation to the Carbon County Youth Crisis Center.

The next Riverside Town Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Riverside Town hall on May, 13.
