Saratoga has first track meet

The Saratoga High School Track team did not have any placers at their first meet in Casper Friday.

Coach Rex Hohnholt said he was missing two-thirds of his team because of spring break – some of the students had left Thursday for the European trip.

“Some bright things happened for us and we have a lot of things to look forward to,” Hohnholt said.

In the pole vault, Andrew Oiler had an 11-foot vault. Oiler also participated in the 400-meter dash and ran it in 59.52 seconds.

Hunter Mason participated in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash and had a 12.22 and 24.77 time respectively.

Alex Ziegler competed in the 200-meter dash with 24.86 and the 400-meter dash with 56.7.

Jeremy Detterer ran in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs and had a time of 2:34.52 and 5:20.25 respectively.

Aaron Kerbs’ times in the 800 and 1600-meter were 2:33:63 and 5:27.62.

Ben Fairbanks also competed in the 800 and 1600-meter runs with 2:29.06 and 5:32.22.

Riley Sandilands had a time of 22.37 in the 100 meter dash and a 25.67 in the 200 meter dash. In the shot put competition, Sandilands threw 33 feet 1/2 inch.

Hazer Hinkle had a 33-10 3/4 in the shot put and a 88-10 in the discus.

Jaxon King ran the 100 -meter dash in 12.56 and the 200-meter dash in 26.92. In the long jump, King scored 16-7 1/2.

Bradley Bifano made the 200 meter dash in 27.32 and his high jump was 5-5.

On the girls side, Keslie Samson ran the 800-meter run in 2:49.22 and the 1600-meter in 6:25.09.

Meredith Lincoln had a time of 20.31 in the 100 meter hurdles and 32.25 in the 200-meter dash. Her long jump was 13-7 1/2.

Veronica Lincoln had a time of 22.2 in the 100-meter hurdles with 32.74 in the 200-meter dash. Her long jump was 11-10 1/4.

Allison Faulk ran 16.04 in the 100-meter dash and 33.26 in the 200-meter dash. In the triple jump she made it 27-5, and the threw the discus 62-3.

The next scheduled track meet is at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wheatland.
