Application forms for the $500 Youth Citizenship Award (YCA) offered to graduating seniors by the Valley Service Organization (VSO) are now available through the counseling offices of Carbon County School District No. 2 (CCSD#2).
All graduating seniors from the CCSD#2 are eligible to apply, including home-schooled seniors, according to Carol Beach, one of the project coordinators for VSO. The $500 award is presented every May, not as a scholarship, but, rather, in recognition of outstanding citizenship, she said. There are no restrictions on how the award is to be used.
Application deadline is April 15. All required paperwork must be postmarked by that date. Applications are to be sent to Valley Service Organization, P.O. Box 1601, Saratoga, WY 82331.
