Technology to benefit town in flood mapping, master plan
The Saratoga Town Council approved the mayor to sign a contract for a LiDAR survey of Saratoga in the amount of $34,000. That amount will be divided between the budgets of the streets, water, planning and sewer departments. The amount taken from each department’s fund is $8,500.
The final product would depend on weather conditions, but is expected to be complete by the end of April.
Mayor Ed Glode explained to the audience that the LiDAR survey is an integral tool for updating the flood map for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as well as the master plan process.
