Sage Grouse group wants public input

The South Central Sage-Grouse Local Working Group is considering recommendations from the public in relation to the Wyoming Sage-Grouse Conservation Plan’s core area map at its next meeting at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23 at the Rawlins Bureau of Land Management office located at 1300 N. Third St.

Any person proposing changes to a core area boundary are asked to provide the local working group with maps and/or written descriptions along with an explanation of their proposal in advance of the meeting. These documents can be emailed to [email protected].

The Working Group’s recommendations will be passed along to the Sage Grouse Implementation Team who will then make recommendations to Gov. Matt Mead.

The South Central Sage-Grouse Local Working Group is one of eight local working groups around the state. Each is comprised of citizens representing various stakeholder groups interested in sage-grouse conservation and associated land management issues
