Saratoga Jumps With Poke Pride

The fun was in full swing for the kids who attended the annual Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart last Friday. Shayley Love has organized the event for her third year in a row and wanted to do a University of Wyoming (UW) Cowboys theme for this year's event, "To help those who help us.", Love said. Love is referring to the UW Cowboys football team who helped the Saratoga community this summer with sandbagging. "We wanted to give back by jumping and shooting in the honor of UW football player Xavier Lewis who suffered a stroke in December," Love said. Love hopes to beat last year's total of $8400 raised for the American Heart Association and it appears that she is well on the way to beat it with $8,000 already collected. "That number will go up as I finish collecting packets and get a grand total from online donations," Love said.

Besides raising money for a great cause, "My biggest thing with this is not only to get the kids active but to be active with each other and have fun and that's what it's all about, is having fun."
