Local Kiwanis turns 25, invites public to guest night

The Platte Valley Kiwanis is celebrating their 25th anniversary in community service for the Platte Valley. As the club has aged, so have the members.

Three members of the club are in their 80s and still active, former Kiwanis president Connie McGuire said.

With that in mind, Kiwanis is looking for new members to help with its service projects.

At 5:15 p.m., Feb. 17, Kiwanis will be hosting a guest night at their meeting place, the Saratoga Senior Center, where people who are not familiar with the club can come and find out what it is about.

The club meets at 5:15 p.m., on the third Tuesday of each month at the Saratoga Senior Center.

Kiwanis International is celebrating their 100th anniversary this year. The coeducational service club was founded in 1915 and is headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind.
