55 alive starting back up

There were eight here to play bingo on Tuesday. Two-dollar winners were Carl Kerbs, Winnie Allen, Nadine Kerbs, and Sue Howe. Nadine Kerbs won the $5 blackout round.

There were eight here for Duplicate Bridge Jan. 26. High winners were Vivien Campbell and Mary Sjoden. Second high went to Bob Johnson and Gertrude Herold. Then on Monday Feb. 2, there were only five people here. First place was Mary Sjoden.

Our count has been down so we are trying to get it up by having a breakfast once in a while. We had a small turnout for breakfast on Friday. But we enjoyed the folks that were here for the breakfast. We will be doing another breakfast Thursday at 8 a.m., then lunch at noon as usual. We will be serving biscuits and sausage gravy and fruit. If you want to join us please call and get your name on the list.

Also we will be having a lunch on Feb. 14. We will be serving ham, baked potato, veggie, fruit and a cookie. Please plan to join us.

We will be open on Feb.16, which is President’s Day. We will be serving a hot hamburger sandwich, mashed potatoes, veggies, fruit.

We will be having the 55 Alive driving class here from, 9 a.m.- 3 p.m., Feb. 18. We recommend you call ahead and get your name on the list for this class, but it is not mandatory. We are asking for people to arrive 15 minutes early, so the paperwork is completed before the class starts. You are more than welcome to stay for lunch but we need to know in advance if you want to stay. The lunch that day is oven-baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, bread, peaches and spice cake. The cost is $4 for seniors and $8 for non- seniors. We hope you will all stay and join us.

We want to send our sincere sympathy to the family of Earl Seahorn who passed away last week in Arizona. He was a big part of the Valley for many years. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Also we all want to send our sincere sympathy to the family of Doris Cornell as Doris passed away this week.
