The Cowboy Couture changes ownership

Maria Johnson works on a logo sample in her home Tuesday. Johnson recently purchased The Cowboy Couture and received a special-use permit from the town of Saratoga to operate the business in her home.

Maria Johnson has always had an interest in fashion. When Dixie Berger told her she was thinking of selling The Cowboy Couture to pursue other interests, Johnson jumped right on it.

Johnson was familiar with the process, because she had worked for Berger for nearly a year.

In January, Johnson became the new owner of The Cowboy Couture and she is having fun with the business.

"I'll never stop learning," Johnson said. "There is so much to learn." She has received lots of help. "People around here have been very helpful."
