Cheesecake auction to benefit students through booster club

Saratoga Panther basketball fans have a chance to satisfy their sweet tooth and help the Saratoga High School Booster Club Friday night at the Saratoga game.

The booster club is hosting their annual cheesecake auction.

The proceeds are used for cooler money, flowers for parents night, embroidered towels for graduating seniors, banquets, coaches wish lists and scholarships.

The booster club has also used the proceeds to purchase plaques for the Gold Paw Members and sports banners for the gym

SHS Booster Club President Sarah Lincoln said the cheesecake auction has been around since she moved to Saratoga eight years ago.

Last year the highest bidder was Diana Berger who donated $400 to the booster club for one of the cheesecakes.

New to the cheesecake auction last year was the live auction, Lincoln said. In the past, they have had the silent auction. Businesses in Saratoga donated to the live auction and it was a success, so the booster club is including the live auction again this year.

The booster club, a volunteer organization, meets at 6 p.m., the second Wednesday of the month in the commons area the Saratoga Middle/High School.

Other board members include Michelle McWain, vice president, Lisa Burton, treasurer and Shaylee Love, secretary.

Lincoln said booster club members are welcome to attend meetings and share ideas.
