Vorn charged in dog shooting

Trevor Vorn, 24, of Encampment, Wyo. has been charged with two felonies and one misdemeanor by the Carbon County Attorney in the case of an alleged dog shooting on Dec. 17, 2014.

Vorn has been charged with one count felony Cruelty to Animals, one count felony Property Destruction, and one misdemeanor count Depositing or Placing Refuse Matter, Dead Animals and Garbage into Rivers, Ditches, Railroad Right-Of-Way, Highway or Public Grounds Prohibited.

According to police records a Bernese Mountain Dog belonging to JoElla Vacher was shot on state land near Vorn’s property and died from the wound. The dog’s body was later recovered from an irrigation ditch in another location.

Vorn was to be arraigned on Tuesday at 1:30 at the Circuit Court in Rawlins.
