Pat was born in Waco, Neb. on Feb. 12, 1929, to Nelson and Anna (Bouchard) Parrish. She was the young sister of two brothers. Pat attended and graduated from Riverton High School.

Pat was married to William L. Payne, Oct. 21, 1946; they had four children. Bill and Pat were married for 36 years before Bill passed. She married Edward C. Faust March 3, 1992, who left this world in April of 2012.

After her marriage to Ed, they moved from the Valley to Powell and then to Lovell. After Ed passed, Pat moved back to Saratoga.

Pat worked as a bookkeeper for Nuhn's Department Store when they first moved to Saratoga in 1952. She also worked as the town clerk and spent 25 years working at the Forest Service.

She enjoyed spending time with family as well as being in the mountains. Pat went with all of her children to school, church, and 4-H events, sharing the fun and learning. It was even said that "Pat was always there, whether we wanted her or not." She also enjoyed making jewelry while Ed hand carved boxes, toys, and pictures, later going to craft fairs to sell their wares. She truly enjoyed visiting with people. She received a certificate from the Saratoga Chamber for "Doing It Right" by talking to strangers in our Valley and telling them about the town and camping areas.

Pat was a parishioner of Foot Hill Baptist Church in Encampment. She was also an active member of The American Legion Auxiliary, Saratoga Unit #54. She held all local offices, chaired most committees and was the Department of Wyoming President for the 1973-1974 term. She could also tell you the score of any Broncos game.

Pat is survived by three of her children, Fran Payne-Rogers (Joe Irene), of Saratoga, Billie Jo (Steve) Fredericks, of Schenectady, N.Y., and Bill Payne, of East Prairie, Mo .; four step-children, Eddie Faust, Steve Faust, John Faust and Elise Faust; three grandchildren, Stephanie Fredericks, of Schenectady, N.Y., Bobby (Kimmie) Fredericks, USMC, MD and Will Pederssen, of Saratoga; three remaining cousins; and six nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leland Parrish and Nelson Parrish; both husbands, Bill Payne and Ed Faust; brother-in-law, Charles Robert Payne; and daughter, Linda (Payne) Pederssen.

Pat was a wonderful and gracious lady who will be missed and will always be in our hearts.
