Carbon Monoxide Reminders

The Wyoming Poison Center has received 40 calls so far this year on carbon monoxide (CO), which is similar to the previous year. Every year more than 400 Americans die from unintentional CO poisoning and 20,000 are seen in emergency rooms, while another 4,000 are hospitalized.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ranked Wyoming as one of the states with the highest mortality rate from carbon monoxide. It is imperative that the citizens of Wyoming understand the dangers, the symptoms and how to prevent poisoning from carbon monoxide.
