This year’s Make-It-With-Wool Contest begins with registration at 9 a.m., on Nov. 2 at the Jeffrey Center in Rawlins.
Contestants from all over Carbon County are eligible to enter the contest with garments or quilts made of 100 percent wool.
The sewing or construction is judged the morning of the contest following, which includes a style show at 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend the style show, a press release said.
The Make-It-With-Wool contest is a part of the Wool Grower’s Auxiliary and is supported by local donations.
There are various categories for all ages of contestants. Young children can model a wool outfit made by someone else; preteens are age 12 and under; juniors are age 13-16; seniors are age 17-24; and the adult category if for anyone 25 and older. There are also categories for afghans or quilts; wearable accessories; and outfits made for others who are older than 8 years old.
Winners in the junior, senior and adult categories advance to the state contest and compete for a trip to nationals.
Beginning this year, contestants will be required to submit a sample of their wool fabric or yard to ensure it is 60 percent will printer to entering the contest on Nov. 2.
