Local search and rescue saves hikers

Two Rayton Mo. residents were in good condition on the morning of Oct. 8 despite having spent a cold night in the Medicine Bow National Forest after becoming lost Tuesday evening while on a hike.

Carbon County Sheriff, Jerry Colson, said John Stegner, 68, and Lajuna Stegner, 65, began hiking from their camp site near Dipper Lake toward Medicine Bow Peak on the evening of Oct. 7.
