High school students rodeo up

Konnar Knotwell and Bailey Miller, of Encampment, and Jace Berger, of Saratoga, are competing in High School Rodeos this fall. Knotwell is competing in team roping and breakaway roping. Miller is competing in barrel racing and Berger is competing in calf roping and team roping.

Aug. 31 and Sept.1, the trio competed in Wheatland.

Berger earned fourth place in team roping with a time of 7.44 seconds on Sept. 1. He and roping partner Matt Britton, of Wheatland, shaved off several points from Sunday's time, which was 10.350 seconds.

Miller was penalized for hitting a barrel on Aug. 31 and finished her barrel race with a time of 23.688 seconds. On Sept. 1 she finished her race with a time of 18.531.

Knotwell had no scores in either of her events.

On Sept. 6 and 7, the trio competed in Lander.

Miller had a time of 16.170 on her Sept.6 barrel race and 20.459 on Sept. 7.

In pole bending, Miller had a time of 24.437 on Sept. 6.

Knotwell had a time of 4.0 during the breakaway competition Sept. 7, placing seventh for the day.

In the tie down competition on Sept. 6, Berger had a time of 16.92 and a time of 24.140 on Sept. 7

Last weekend Berger, Bailey and Knotwell traveled to Jackson.

Knotwell placed seventh in breakaway roping on Saturday.

Miller placed 10th on Saturday and seventh on Sunday in barrel racing . Full results were not available from Jackson as of press time.
