Yahtzee, Bingo and more

At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.

Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday afternoon, six residents played Dominoes with Pat Rust winning. On Tuesday morning, eight residents played Yahtzee with Janet Kennaday winning. On Wednesday afternoon, 16 residents played Bingo, and on Friday afternoon, 15 residents played Bingo. Rudy Stodola, Truth Karstoft, Frank Jereb, Russell Cox, and Pat Rust won Four Corners. Carol Higby, Chris Mann, and Marjorie McAulay won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Lila Worden, Joni Johnson, Gloria Rakness, Dawna Erickson, Elder Richin, Elder Komarek, and Sue Bartlett. On Thursday morning, three residents played dominoes. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.

During the evenings, residents watched the Turner Classic Movies. On Tuesday morning, three residents watch the DVD movie, “Buddy Goes West”. On Saturday morning, residents watched the VCR Movie, “Foreign Correspondent”.

For Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center, five residents had beef stew on Monday, and five residents had tuna casserole on Friday.

On Sunday morning, six residents played Wii Bowling.

On Sunday afternoon, Reverend Miki Laws, of the Encampment Presbyterian Church, led church. Doris Davis played religious music on the keyboard.

On Monday afternoon, 10 residents attended Resident Council under the leadership of President Randy Cross, discussing concerns about living at the facility.

On Wednesday morning, Georgia Schroer, Lynda Healey, and Kathy McMorrow gave Hair Care to seven residents and Nail Care to eight residents.

On Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed ice cream sandwiches.

We wish to thank the Ryan Park Fire Department for the donation of soda for Bingo.

We are in need of small Bingo prizes, including stuffed animals.
