Marilyn K. Starr

Marilyn K. Starr, 62, of Saratoga, went to her heavenly home on Sept. 1, 2014, after a four-year battle with cancer.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Platte Valley Lutheran Church with Pastor Marvin Temme officiating. Interment followed in the Saratoga Cemetery.

Marilyn was born Aug. 9, 1952 to Merle (Ward) and Ralph Starr in Rawlins. Marilyn graduated from Platte Valley High School in 1970. She worked for Carbon County School District No. 2 Central Office, cherished her 12 years babysitting and was then a bookkeeper for R.G. Raymer Construction until she could no longer work due to her ill health.

Marilyn was a founding member of the Platte Valley Lutheran Church and served as an organist for 27 years.

She is survived by her mother, Merle Starr; brother, David (Kim) Starr; nieces, Jackie (Waylon) Krakow and Kandi Starr; nephew, Daniel (Kacey) Starr; and great-nieces and nephews, Jayden, Jaxsen, JJ, Addie and Bristol.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Starr; brother, William Starr; and sister, Patty Starr.
