Glenn A. Vawser

Glenn A. Vawser, 82, formerly of Saratoga, passed away in Fort Collins, Colo., July 20, 2014. He was born May 11, 1932 in Winner S.D., to Art and Thelma Vawser. The family moved to Scappoose, Ore, in 1947. Glenn graduated high school there in 1950 and then joined the Air Force and served in Korea. He was also stationed in Denver, Colo.

He married Gladys (Cross) in Cheyenne on Dec. 5, 1953. He then was employed by Cheyenne Light & Power Company and Colorado Public Service Company in Salida, Sterling and Frisco, Colo. Glenn retired after 35 years with the company and he and Gladys moved to Saratoga in 1989.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys, three sons and their families; Bill Vawser, of Etna, Maine; David, of Gresham, Ore.; Loren, of Silverthorne, Colo.; and one daughter, Karen Jemison and family, of Pittsburg, Kan; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Glenn is also survived by four sisters, all of Scappoose, Ore., and brothers-in-law Ken and Bob Cross, of Colorado and sister-in-law, Wilma Perue, of Saratoga.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Art and Thelma, one brother and two grandchildren.

In September, 2011, Glenn and Gladys moved to Worthington Assisted Living in Fort Collins.

A memorial service was held on Aug. 9, 2014 in Fort Collins, with Pastor Jonathon Moore, of First Baptist Church, of Saratoga, officiating.
