Candidates react to primaries results

In Saratoga, Encampment and surrounding Platte Valley areas, 1,061 voters participated in the primary elections on Aug. 12.

The primary had around a 46 percent voter turnout in Carbon County. Carbon County Clerk Gwynn Bartlett said while she always wishes more people would vote in the primary elections, Carbon County was in line with the state-wide average. She expects 70 percent voter turn out at the general elections in November.

Mayoral election

Saratoga will have a new mayor next year, as Ed J. Glode and Don Sherrod took the most votes in Saratoga’s primary election.
