Legion to retire flag

The American Legion Post No. 54 is rededicating the Khe Sanh West to the east of Lollypops, July 26, Deb Clark, American Legion adjutant, said.

The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m., and is followed by a flag retirement ceremony.

Clark said citizens who would like to have their American flag retired at the ceremony can being the flags to the ceremony or drop them off at the American Legion Post Home.

According to The United States Flag Code, “The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.”
