Recycling newspapers encouraged

Editor:

How many of the newspapers that come into Saratoga each day or week get recycled?

As the Paper man I bring 1,378 papers into Saratoga each week. This paper, the Sun, brings in another 1,700 papers each week. That means we bring in a total of over 3,000 papers a week, or 12,000 a month. That works out to be well over 144,000 newspapers a year that come into our fair town.

How many of these papers get recycled?

This large number of incoming papers does not include all the other news papers, magazines, periodicals and catalogs that come in by mail.

Recycling at the local landfill is free. Please join us in keeping all the news papers and other paper products out of our trash.

The good news is that we recycled over 40 tons of all items last year. Can we make it to 50 tons this year?

Thanks for your help Saratoga:
