The Town of Encampment passed the 2014/2015 budget on its third and final reading Thursday evening.
The council also amended the 2013/2014 budget.
The 2014/15 budget is balanced to reflect revenue and expenditures of $1,243,196.04.
The council approved a $2 water rate increase, and to raise the irrigation rate. The irrigation rate increase went from $8 per irrigated lot for a year, to $10 per irrigated lot for a year.
Also approved by the council was a $250 service contract for the Encampment FCCLA/Pro-Start students. The money would be awarded to the students in exchange for community service.
“We do have $250 in the budget for FCCLA,” said Town Clerk/Treasurer Doreen Harvey. “They’re proposing just to do some simple things for me, like some window cleaning and small projects for the $250.”
The next Encampment Town Council meeting takes place at 7 p.m. on July 10 at Encampment Town Hall.
