Children can enjoy a free lunch and day of fishing at this year’s “Kids’ Fishing Day”, held the Saratoga Resort and Spa June 7.
This free event takes place at the Saratoga Resort Fishing Ponds, from 7:30 a.m. to noon, and is for kid fishers 12 and under and their parents. Lunch, refreshments and the chance to win prizes are included.
According to Lee Bender, manager of the U.S. National Fish Hatchery in Saratoga, the hatchery will stock the ponds with many well-sized fish for the event. The lunch and refreshments are provided courtesy of the Saratoga Lions Club.
“The Lions Club will do burgers and hot dogs, and we’ll draw names out of a hat to give out prizes,” Bender said. “We’ll stock the ponds with somewhere around 300 fish.”
