Barkhurst keeps striding toward state goal

One week after breaking a school long jump record, Alyssa Barkhurst’s quick feet earned her another state qualifying time at the Shane Brock Invite.

During the Saturday invite in Lander, Barkhurst pre-qualified for state from a time of 27.89 in the 200 meter dash. Her time also put her in fifth place.

At the Cheyenne South Twilight meet May 1, McKenzie Powell scored first place in the 400 meter dash from a time of 1:03.41. Guy Erickson made the top 10 for the boys from a time of 1:00.79 in the 400 meter dash.

The Tigers will next compete in regionals, held in Lander, this Friday and Saturday. Results from the Shane Brock and Cheyenne South Twilight Invites are shown below:
