Art students bring home the blue

Seven Encampment students were awarded first-place blue ribbons for their works of art shown at the Wyoming State Art Symposium.

Six students were present at the symposium, which took place April 24-26 at the Casper Events Center. Encampment Art Teacher Brooke Seitz said she was quite proud of her students, especially with the competition they were up against.

“There were around 4,400 pieces of art at the competition, and I heard that only 20 percent of the entries got blue ribbons,” she said. “The students spent the whole year working on their art pieces. We’ll also have an art and music show at the school starting at 5:30 p.m. on May 13.”

The winning students received blue ribbons for one or more pieces they had submitted, and Jennifer Morgan received the most for four pieces. The list of winning students and their blue-ribbon works of art is shown below:
