Obituary: Joshua Stephen Fritz

Joshua Stephen Fritz, 32, of Rawlins, passed away on April 3, 2014, due to an unforeseen tragic accident.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Jeffrey Center in Rawlins, with a luncheon to follow.

Josh was born in Rawlins, Wyoming on Oct. 8, 1981 to Steve Fritz and Carla Fritz. He graduated from Rawlins High School in 2000.

Josh was married to Kandis Fritz on May 29, 2004. They had been married for 9 years, however, they have been the love of each other's lives for 16 years. Together they had two beautiful boys, Braden Scott Fritz, born on Jan. 23, 2005, and Traven Joshua Fritz, born on Sept. 23, 2008. The boys and Kandis were his ultimate pride and joy, along with his nieces and nephews.

Josh loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed working for F&S Trucking Inc., building and fabricating rig up trucks with his father, brothers, Chris and Stevie Fritz, brother-in-law, Josh Smith and nephew, JD Smith.

Some of his most memorable times were spent hunting, fighting fires, horn hunting, building derby cars, welding, fishing, working on his property, riding horses, camping, riding or driving anything with a motor and he most definitely loved his lifted up trucks.

Josh was the most caring, giving, likable man you would ever meet. Josh lived his life to the fullest in everything he did. He touched everyone he met and left us with the most beautiful, unforgettable smile you have ever seen.

Josh was an active member of the Sinclair Refinery ERT as well as the Carbon County Fire Department. He was a member of the Rawlins Elks Lodge, No. 609 for the past 11 years. He was highly involved with the NRA and loved to donate to this wonderful foundation.

At Josh's time of death, he was employed with Sinclair Wyoming Refining Company. Josh began working at the refinery in 2001. His most recent assignment was as a unit operator within the Hydrocracker complex.

Josh took pride in any job he was assigned to, and many people stated that he was the hardest working person they knew. He was a very dedicated employee who went above and beyond to make sure the job was done right.

Josh is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Kandis; their two boys, Braden and Traven; parents, Steve and Carla; brothers, Chris and his wife, Pam, and their children, Kaleb and Rylee; Stevie and his wife, DeeDee, and their children, Onica and Katie and Dakota Becker; grandparents, Gerald and Rita Fritz; very close brother-in-law, Josh and his wife, Amber Smith, and their children Stormy, JD, Josie, and Joshua; brother and sister-in-law, Brent and Mandy Moon, and son, Menphis Smith; mother and father-in-law, JoDell and Stephen Hone; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and too many friends to count.

Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents; Oscar and Doris Paulsrud; stepmother, Stacy Fritz; and cousins, Stacy Bohl and Brittany Sandoval. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Josh's boys at P.O. Box 425, Rawlins, WY 82301.
