American Legion Club Notes

The American Legion Auxiliary met at 6:30 pm on Dec. 17, 2013 at the Post Home.

It was reported that the food raffles are going well with the last two to be held in January 2014. This project is for the Christmas year round for the VA Hospitals.

Discussion was held about the concessions for the Fishing Derby in January 2014. There was a special meeting Jan. 15, 2014 to finalize plans for this project.

Fruit baskets were delivered to the veterans at the Deseret Health and Rehab Center on Dec. 21, 2013. The members put craft kits together for the ladies at the Buffalo Veterans Home at the January meeting. They also discussed plans for Chariot Race weekend. The American Legion Auxiliary met at 6:30 p.m on Jan. 21, 2014 at the Legion Post Home.

They heard the report on the last two food raffles and it was decided to divide the proceeds from all the food raffles and donation from the Past Presidents Parley 70/30 between the Cheyenne VA Hospital and the Buffalo Veterans Home. It was reported the concessions from the Fishing Derby went well.

A buffet-style breakfast and the beer tent were set up at the track. Members volunteered to do several assignments. A special meeting was held 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 to finalize plans.

Several upcoming projects and ideas were discussed and the members were reminded about the mid-winter conference being held in Rawlins Jan. 24, 25 and 26 2014.

The American Legion Auxiliary met at 6:30 on Feb. 18, 2014 at the Legion Post Home. It was reported that the buffet breakfast and the beer tent sales went well over Chariot Race weekend. The membership also heard the final report on the Fishing Derby concession stand.

It was reported that four members attended the mid-winter conference in Rawlins Jan. 25, 2014 and they reported good things from that meeting.

Work is continuing on several ideas and projects.
