The Saratoga Panthers’ 2014 wrestling season came to an end Saturday evening, with the team boasting six individual state medal winners at the Wyoming State Championships in Casper.
The Panthers finished with six in the top five and placed seventh out of 21 teams in the 2A division. Leading the way were third-place finishers Daynon Mowry, at 113, Hunter Mason, at 120, and Jacob Wells, at 285.
Still a young freshman, Thomas Ingleby had a fourth place finish in the 120 weight division. Ending their season with wins and fifth place medals were Chaze Wiant, at 126, and Thatcher Spiering, at 132.
“The Panthers had some exciting victories and some heart-breaking defeats, but win or lose; all of these young men wrestled with class and represented Saratoga to their best,” said head coach Jared Mason. “They can walk away with their heads held high, and for those returning next year, with confidence and a hunger for more success.”
