New staff at Old Baldy

The Old Baldy Club is known for it world class golfing, prime fishing and upscale resort.

Now in its 50th year, Old Baldy Club is filled with new staff members to continue its long tradition.

At the helm is new general manager Greg Hoover. In a long career with hospitality, Hoover hopes to maintain the Old Baldy Club's prestige.

"My goal is to exceed our member's expectations at all times," Hoover said. "The Old Baldy Club has an outstanding reputation nationwide, its cliental is very high end. Our goal is to constantly exceed what they expect here."

As an outdoorsman, Hoover said that Wyoming was an ideal location for his move. However, recently arriving from Portland, Ore., means that the Platte Valley has required him to adjust to his surroundings.

"It's fun to see all of the wildlife out here. It's pretty neat to look out my window and see a herd of deer," Hoover said. "It's a little different from Portland."

Hoover said that he has been impressed by the people of Saratoga so far.

"I enjoy the people of Saratoga. The ones I have met so far have been extremely friendly and hospitable. Everyone wants to go out of their way to help you," Hoover said.

Fisherman with the Old Baldy Club have an opportunity to work with new streams department manager Blake Clark.

His duties as streams department manager include managing guides for club members and organizing events.

Clark has spent several years as a fishing guide and managed a fly shop in Cody before moving to Saratoga. He said that he is very excited to be in Saratoga.

"I've fished the North Platte River before I'm excited to be in a new area," Clark said. "And I'm also excited to meet new people."

The greens of the Old Baldy Club will have a new superintendent as well. Kevin Klemenz brings a lifetime of golfing experience to the Old Baldy Club.

Originally from Connecticut, Klemenz's desire for golf management brought him to the Rocky Mountain West to Cherry Hill's Golf course in Colorado. Klemenz said that the Saratoga appeared to be a great option for his career.

"It seemed like a good opportunity," Klemenz said. "I am ready to meet with new people."
