E-Club cakes make $20K

More than $20,000 was raised at Saturday's "E-Club Cake Auction" held as part of Encampment K-12 School's homecoming festivities.

A total of 94 cakes were entered into the auction, which took place in front of a packed crowd after Encampment's Saturday homecoming games. Auction helper Rick Martin said nearly $6,000 more dollars were raised over what came from 2013's auction.

"We raised a total of $21,020, and last year we raised $15,525," he said. "People came from all over the area. The auction has grown over the past five years."

The cake with the highest sale price was Cheryl McNeal-Blake's "Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle", which sold for $925. It was bought by Kleinheksel Consulting out of Riverton.

Cakes entered into the competition were baked by locals in the community and students from Encampment K-12 School's E-Club.
