Encampment celebrates homecoming with "End of the World 2014" theme

Encampment School’s homecoming week kicked off Monday and have a packed schedule of school activities.

Encampment will hold five dress up days this week including Pajama Day, Funeral Day, Survivor Day, Zombie Day and Red and Black Day. Students and staff alike will have the opportunity to dress up for school pride.

The Encampment Student Council will also host “Penny Wars.” An activity that benefits The Make-A-Wish Foundation, penny drive contest will pit classes against each other in a school-wide contest. If a class contributes pennies or paper money, it counts positively towards their class. However, students from other classes can “sabotage” a class by inserting quarters, nickels and dimes which count negatively against a classes score. The class with the most positive points will win a prize and will receive recognition at the Pep Assembly at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 31.

If the students reach their goal of $2,300, the Encampment School staff will pay the consequences. Cori Tiezsen will dye her hair orange; Nanette Marchetti will dye her hair green, Nancy Lynch will dye her hair red and Jordan Seitz will sport a Mohawk haircut.

For homecoming 2013, the students exceeded their goal and the student council members had their heads shaved in front of the student body during the Pep Assembly.
