Foul trouble leads to Lady Panthers' disappointing loss

After last weekend’s victory over Little Snake River, Saratoga’s Lady Panthers fell to Lusk Saturday 37-58.

The loss puts the Lady Panthers at 4-9 (non-conference) and 0-3 (conference). The junior varsity Lady Panthers also lost 32-45.

Head coach Matt Love said the loss was disappointing because he felt the team had practiced hard in preparation for Lusk’s Lady Tigers.

“I felt like we had a great week of practice and we were fully prepared,” he said. “We got into early foul trouble, couldn’t score and didn’t rebound like we needed to on the defensive end, so they got some put-backs on us. We came out in the third quarter, and only scored five points and gave up 17 points. When you do this in our conference, bad things happen, but we will continue to work on the little things and just work on getting a little better every day.”

The Lady Panthers play their next conference game against Southeast at Yoder Friday, and a home game against Hanna-Elk Mountain-Medicine Bow at noon Saturday.
