Council member Leroy Stephenson informed the Riverside Town Council at their regular town council meeting Thursday that Heidi Sifford was named the new coordinator of the South Central Wyoming Emergency Services (SCWEMS). This is a paid position, Stephenson told the Saratoga Sun in a later interview.
Members of the town council were reminded of the Encampment/Riverside dog clinic taking place in February at Encampment Town Hall.
Riverside Town Clerk Jan Cook said the dog clinic would take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 1 at Encampment Town Hall. Cook said she would be selling dog licenses and that people who come can receive checkups for their dogs for a reduced price.
The council approved Bank of the West as a depository for public funds for 2014.
Cook also passed out copies of the investment policy for the town of Riverside, known as Ordinance 188.
“Last meeting Fred (Lorenz) asked me about where we could invest our public funds to possibly get a better rate on our investment,” Cook said. “I made copies of Ordinance 188, which is the investment policy for the town, and in that it says there are two state statutes that the town goes by. One is statute 9418 and the other one is 9431. I’m really conservative when it come to investments, and even though we don’t get a lot of return on our money, our money is safe.”
