Obituary: Cordel Hockley

Cordel Hockley passed away Jan. 2, 2014, he was 16 years old.

Cord was born to Debra and Steven Hockley on Jan. 1, 1998 in Laramie, Wyo.

Cord was a sophomore at Saratoga Middle/High School. He loved video games, Incubus, sledding in the snow, driving, and floating on the lake. He had a love of old books, John Steinbeck and Brandon Boyd were his favorite authors. Butterfingers, Coke Zero and Kum & Go pizza were some of his favorite foods. He played the drums in the High School Jazz Band and enjoyed art class.

He is survived by his parents and two brothers: Tatten and Samuel. Cordel is also survived by his maternal grandparents Jack and Ora Gist of Chinook, Mont., paternal grandparents: Carol and Bob Hogg, of Casper, and Kenneth Hockley of Powell, eight aunts, five uncles and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Georgia Hockley.

Memorial services will be held Friday Jan. 10, 2014 at the LDS Church, 950 Hugus Ave. in Saratoga. Public visitation 11 a.m., funeral services at noon. Graveside services are at 1:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of his life at the LDS Church.
