BLM to host 2014 Industry Conference

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rawlins Field Office (RFO) will host the 2014 Industry Government Conference in March at the Jeffrey Memorial Community Center in Rawlins.

The BLM RFO was designated as a pilot office under the Energy Policy Act of 2005. As part of that designation, the office hosts an annual Industry Government Conference. The focus of the event is sharing of ideas, information, and learning opportunity for improving operations.

The BLM is looking for industry/operator/lease holders to present on best management practices, new technologies, reclamation success, remote sensing or water quality. Presentations are requested to be approximately 15-20 minutes, including Q&A time.

“The Industry Government Conference is a great opportunity to be able to put a face with a name of people you work with on Federal regulations on a daily basis,” said Rawlins Assistant Field Manager Nancy Baker. “It also is a wonderful time networking with fellow industry personnel you don’t usually get to visit with who are working through similar challenges.”

The conference takes place from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., March 12, at the Jeffrey Memorial Community Center in Rawlins. In conjunction with the Industry Conference, the Monitoring without Borders (wildlife monitoring) meeting will take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., March 11 at the RFO, 1300 N. Third St. in Rawlins. The Transportation Planning meeting will be from 8 a.m.-noon, followed by an open forum from 1-4 p.m., March 13 at the RFO.
