Crimmins slated to serve as president for statewide chamber partnership

Stacy Crimmins has been the executive director at the Saratoga Platte Valley Chamber for more than 10 years.

She was hired as the administrative assistant, but soon after, she was promoted to executive director.

Crimmins is now about to take on the most important role in her chamber career - president of the Wyoming Chamber Partnership.

Crimmins was nominated at the annual Wyoming Chamber Fall Conference held in Cody last month.

The nomination came as a surprise to Crimmins. "I have been on the board for one year, and the way the board works, is you eventually do become president."

Crimmins was appointed to fill another slot on the board, which made her vice president in October.

"I just didn't realize I was that high up on the ladder," Crimmins said.

Her term as president begins in October of 2014.

Crimmins became more familiar with the duties of the executive director of the Wyoming Chamber when the position was vacated earlier this year and the board stepped in to fulfill the duties.

"All the board members were pushed into a different mode," Crimmins said. "We all took on different aspects of the job." Crimmins took on most of the administrative side including helping out with registration for the annual conference.

Crimmins said the board normally is involved in planning and policy, but had to take a more active role until a new executive director is hired. The board has recently completed interviews and should be making a decision soon.

As president, Crimmins will be the face of Wyoming Chamber, she said, representing 33 chamber offices in Wyoming.

In the past, the Wyoming Chamber Partnership has been called the Wyoming Chamber Executive and concentrated on professional development for the chamber directors in the state, Crimmins said.

Now the focus has been changed to a statewide entity, with more concentration on Wyoming businesses.

"The nice thing is it means the state conference will be in Saratoga," Crimmins said. The spring conference is held in the past president's town, which means in the spring of 2016, the Wyoming Chamber Partnership will meet in Saratoga.

"I am looking forward to (being president), I just didn't think it would come this quick," Crimmins said.
