Decorating for Christmas

At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the resident interests, and meet the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.

Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday afternoon, four residents played Dominoes and Dora Martin won. On Monday afternoon, four residents played Crazy Eights with Dora Martin. On Wednesday afternoon, nine residents played Bingo, and on Friday afternoon, eight residents played Bingo. Sam Kelly, Pat Sims, and Nadine Caleb and Dora Martin won Four Corners. Nadine Caleb and Kenny Hoagland won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Betty Dean, Lila Worden, Elder Young, Elder Zivala, and Gloria Rakness. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.

Residents watched the Turner Classic Movie channel evenings during the week. On Sunday morning, residents chose to watch the movie “There’s Always Tomorrow”. On Tuesday afternoon, residents watched the movie, “Miracle on 34th Street”. On Saturday morning, residents watched the movie “Notorious”.

On Sunday afternoon, Reverend Mikki Laws of the Encampment Presbyterian Church led church. She offered Communion also. Doris Davis played traditional religious music on her keyboard.

On Monday and Thursday mornings, residents listened to Brenda Zeiger read from CJ Box’s “Open Season”. On Friday morning, residents listened to stories out of Reminisce magazine.

On Tuesday morning, four residents helped Brenda Zeiger put up and decorate our Christmas tree in the dining room.

On Wednesday morning, Janice Kerpan gave beautiful hairdos to six ladies in Hair Care, and Brenda Zeiger did nails for six residents.

On Thursday afternoon, six residents helped Brenda Zeiger decorate a bulletin board for Christmas.

On Saturday afternoon, residents had ice cream sandwiches.
