Chokecherry/Sierra Madre scoping period extended

Due to the federal government shutdown, the BLM is extending the public scoping period for the Chokecherry and Sierra Madre Wind Energy Project (CCSM) infrastructure component Environmental Assessment (EA).

The EA includes the Haul Road and Facilities for Phase I, West Sinclair Rail Facility and the Road Rock Quarry. The scoping period began on Sept. 9, 2013, and was originally scheduled to end on Oct. 9, 2013. The extended scoping period will now end on Oct. 25, 2013.

During the shutdown, the website on the Chokecherry and Sierra Madre Wind Energy Project was taken offline at (http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/info/NEPA/documents/rfo/Chokecherry.html), and as a result all the information was not available on the project. As a result the comment period has been extended.

Comments need to be postmarked or received by the Oct. 25, 2013. If you have already submitted comments to and would like to amend or replace those comments, please include in the new comments that they are an amendment or replacement of previously submitted comments.

Comments can also be submitted in the following ways. One can submit by fax at 307-328-4224, by email at [email protected], or by U.S. Mail at:
