Panthers fight competition at John Martin Invite

Up against a large number of competitors, the Saratoga Cross-Country Panthers pushed hard to improve their times at Friday’s John Martin Invitational in Colorado.

The larger running meet took place in Fort Collins, Colo. The team will be running in front of local friends and family at their home meet this Friday. For the team’s high school boys, Cameron Collamer scored the highest with a time of 19:36, which earned him a respectable 51st place out of 184 runners.

Katie Loose scored the highest for the team’s high school girls with a time of 23:19, grabbing a rank of 65th place out of 185 runners. Jeremy Detterer secured a top 40 placement out of 540 runners in the middle school boys race, ranking 39th place with a time of 15:30.

The team’s home meet, the Saratoga Invitational, begins at 1 p.m. this Friday at the Saratoga Golf Course, 401 Pic Pike Rd. in Saratoga.
