Getting a preparedness talk

There was not enough to play bingo this week.

We had Janette Cox here from Rock Springs. She came and talked to the seniors about emergency preparedness. It was a great program and I think we all got a lot out of her talk. Maybe we will be more prepared for winter and whatever might come up.

There were two-and-a-half tables for duplicate bridge on Monday. High winners were John Blue & Mariel O’Grady. Then there was a three-way tie for second place.

We will be having a breakfast at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26. Then we will have lunch at noon. We need some extra meal count. If you want to join us for breakfast please give us a call at 326-5564 and get your name on the list and come join us at 8 a.m. Then please come back for lunch.

We had our birthday and anniversary dinner Friday. We had a wonderful turnout. Just like the olden days. But we still have room to have more people join us. Those having birthdays this month are Eloise Thomas, Ralph Platt, Sandy Bennett, Norma Fuller, Sonja Collamer, Judy Dixon, Dixie Minear, and Chris Willis. Eloise Thomas won the birthday tree. Those having Anniversaries were Chris & Darlene Willis, John & Betty Larsen and Jim & Mary Lynn Hammer. Teense was sick so he was not able to entertain us this month. We all missed him being here and hope he is getting better.

We were not able to have the music here Tuesday because most of the entertainers were out of town. So we will have to see when they get back as to when we will have it again. It is so much fun I just hate to not have it. We have all gotten used to having it every other Tuesday evening. I will let you know as soon as I find out as to when we will have it again.

We have been busy putting away the food Old Baldy brought us. They always bring us their leftovers when they close down for the winter. So we will be having some new things the next few weeks. We want to thank them for remembering us when they close. We really do appreciate it and enjoy it very much.
