Habitat partership meets in Saratoga today

The Platte Valley Habitat Partnership will hold a meeting and a tour of mule deer habitat on Aug. 28-29.

The meeting will be held beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Platte Valley Community Center, 210 W. Elm Ave. in Saratoga. The meeting will review the Platte Valley Habitat Partnership Plan and Process, discuss the role of Voices of the Valley in the partnership, and discuss the project approval process and current proposed habitat projects.

On Thursday, the United States Forest Service will host the Mule Deer Habitat Tour. Those interested in mule deer habitat will meet at 8 a.m. at the USFS District Office, 2171 Highway 130, in Saratoga. The tour will travel to sites near the Six-Mile/state-line/Big Creek areas, and will return to Saratoga at approximately 2 p.m. Tour participants will be asked to bring lunch and drinking water.

The Platte Valley Habitat Partnership was developed in 2012 to establish effective partnerships in order to maintain and improve mule deer habitat throughout the Platte Valley.
