Residents enjoy outings

At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.

Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday afternoon, six residents played Uno with Pat Sims winning. On Tuesday morning, four residents played Dominoes. On Wednesday afternoon, nine residents played Bingo, and on Friday afternoon, eight residents played Bingo. Truth Karstoft, Pat Sims, Charlotte Gibbon, Nadine Caleb, and Carol Higby won Four Corners. Kenny Hoagland and Carol Higby won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Gloria Rakness, Heather Oxford, Ben Gates, and Lila Worden. The Big Brothers/Big Sisters kids helped residents on Friday. They were accompanied by Julieann Lembke and Ed Kennaday. On Saturday afternoon, five residents played Blackjack.

For Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center, five residents had beef and bean burritos on Monday, and five residents had BBQ riblets on Friday.

Residents watched the Turner Classic Movie channel evenings during the week. On Sunday morning, residents watched the VCR movie, “Crocodile Dundee”. On Tuesday afternoon, residents watched the VCR movie, “A Perfect Murder”. On Saturday morning, residents watched the VCR movie, “The Cowboy and the Lady”.

On Monday, Thursday, and Friday mornings, residents listened to Mary Higgins Clark’s “No Place Like Home” in Reading Fun.

On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Stinson of the Saratoga Missionary Alliance Church led church for residents. Doris Davis assisted on the keyboard with traditional religious music.

On Monday afternoon, five residents went on a shopping trip to Family Dollar.

On Wednesday morning, Janice Kerpan gave beautiful hairdos to nine ladies in Hair Care, and Brenda Zeiger did nails for seven of those ladies.

On Wednesday during supper, Teense Willford sang and played country music for 22 residents.

On Thursday afternoon, six residents helped decorate bulletin boards in Arts and Crafts.

On Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed ice cream sandwiches.
