Busy month at the Senior Center

There were nine here to play bingo Tuesday. Three-dollar winners were Pat Faust, Madaline Forbes, Dorothy Miller, and Ginny Riddick. Pat Faust won a $2 round and the $5 blackout round.

There were three-and-a-half tables for Duplicate Bridge this week. High winners were Pat Bailey and Vivien Campbell. Second high went to Marianna Blue and Bob Johnson.

Don’t forget we will be having the music jamboree up here every other Tuesday at 6:30. It has been so enjoyable and we keep getting more entertainers ,and the audience keeps growing every time. Mark your calendar and come join us. The next one will be Aug. 13.

I do have the forms for the Elderly and Disabled Tax Program. The qualifications for this are. You must be at least 65 years old or have turned 18 in 2012 and are totally disabled, lived in the state of Wyoming for the year 2012, and had income of $17,500 or less for a single person, or $28,500 or less for a married couple. If you have these qualifications, please stop in and get a form or call ahead and I will be happy to help you fill them out.

I have several seniors that can not live at their homes unless they have someone to come and stay with them. If you would be interested in doing that please call the center and I will get you in touch with them.

We started playing Right Left and Center on Wednesday. It was fun. We had eight here that day. Hopefully we will have more stay this week. We will be playing every Wednesday after lunch. All you need to bring is three quarters for each game.

Advisory Council will be meeting on Aug. 14. Mark your calendar and come for the meeting.

We will be having a 55 Alive driving class here on Aug. 21. It will be a one-day class so it will probably be starting at 9 a.m., but I will have to check on the time. We will be serving lunch so if you would like to stay and have lunch please let us know so we can make enough. Just call and get your name on the list to take the class. George would like to know in advance how many to plan on having so he will bring enough books. You should take the class every two years and it will help on your insurance.

Also on Aug. 21, we will have a medication management program at 1 p.m. You can have a free consultation with a pharmacist to check your medications and evaluate solutions to reduce your expense. This program is sponsored by Senior Patient Advocates, of Casper. Call and I can get your name on our list to talk with the pharmacist.
