Living History at GEM

The Grand Encampment Museum is having its annual Living History Days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday .

Come experience the history of the Platte Valley and visit with descendants of the original Encampment settlers.

Participate with the reenactments of making rope, spinning, card games, quilting, and more. Ice cream will be served in the Palace Bakery.

The “Stimson Colors Wyoming” exhibit is featured in the Doc Culleton Building and will be on display through August.

J.E. Stimson was an early 20th century photographer who took several photos of the West including the Platte Valley.

The exhibit is a traveling exhibit on loan from the Wyoming State Museum.

The Sierra Madre Black Powder Muzzleloading Competition/Rendezvous will be held Friday through Sunday near the museum grounds.
