Wyoming landowners honored at Game and Fish ceremony

As part of their three-day public meeting and tour in Saratoga, members of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and Commission honored the 2012 Landowners of the Year at an awards ceremony July 9.

Dinner and glass trophies were presented at the Spur Outfitters’ Elk Hollow Lodge between Saratoga and Encampment, where WGFD Director Scott Talbott and WGFC President Michael Healy welcomed and acknowledged those in attendance. According to the WGFD, the 2012 Landowner of the Year award is presented to Wyoming landowners who have demonstrated outstanding practices in wildlife management, habitat improvement and conservation techniques on their properties.

Award recipients are nominated by any department employee and selected by the regional leadership teams as model citizens for the conservation, ethical use and stewardship of Wyoming’s natural resources. Honorees from different regions around Wyoming were given trophies, with the list included below:
