Riverside approves firetruck sale

The Riverside Town Council approved the sale of the 1977 firetruck once owned by the town at their most recent meeting June 13.

The firetruck had been sold to the A Bar A Ranch in Encampment for $8,500. It was then approved that the money from the sale would be used to purchase a brush cutter for $3,659.98, with the remaining money going back to the Encampment/Riverside Volunteer Fire Department.

The license renewals and special permits for Encampment Hospitality (Bear Trap Café) and the Mangy Moose Saloon were approved at the meeting. Council members also discussed their invitation given from John Farr for a special celebration at the top of Highway 70.

The celebration, given to commemorate Highway 70’s designation as a scenic byway, is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
