Conservation stewardship applications are due

Applications for the National Resources Conservation Service’s (NRCS) Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) are required to be turned in by June 14.

The program will provide about $175 million in funding for up to 12.6 million additional acres enrollment this year. Although applications are accepted all year long, farmers, ranchers and forestland owners interested in the CSP should submit applications by June 14 to their local NRCS office to ensure they are considered for this year’s funding.

The voluntary program allows producers to go the extra mile in conserving natural resources while also maintaining or increasing the productivity of their operations.

To apply for the program, contact Cheryl Grapes, assistant state conservationist for programs, at 307-233-6757. One may also call 307-233-6759 or visit http://www.wy.nrcs.usda.gov.
