At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The activities department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interest, as well as the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
On Monday, April 22, we enjoyed honoring our volunteers at our annual Volunteer Tea. We are very grateful to have such a wonderful group of volunteers to help us enrich the lives of our residents.
Games throughout the week provide fun and laughter. On Wednesday afternoon, 12 residents played Bingo. On Friday afternoon 11 residents played Bingo. Winners for the week for Four Corners were: Kenny Hoaglund and Dora Martin. Blackout winners were: Nadine Caleb, Sunny Behonek and Jeannie James. Our Bingo helpers were Betty Dean, Roxie Baldwin, Lila Worden and Connie Hood.
On Tuesday and Thursday mornings, the residents enjoyed Reading Fun. The book we are currently reading is “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls. On Wednesday evening we enjoyed the music of Teense Willford. On Thursday afternoon four residents started the seeds for our vegetable garden. On Friday morning, four residents played bean bags outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Movies enjoyed by the residents this week include “The Wizard of Oz”, “Air Force One”, “Treasure Island”, “Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines”, “The Great Lie”, “Giant”, “They Live by Night”, “Conagher” and “Crocodile Dundee”.
Tom is currently out on sick leave due to a recent surgery. We all would like to wish him a speedy recovery.
